The NY Center for Dairy Excellence

The New York Center for Dairy Excellence is an initiative of the New York Farm Viability Institute. It was created to facilitate a more unified and goal-oriented dairy sector. The Center promotes collaboration among the many entities that impact the state’s dairy farming sector, in order to improve profitability and productivity at the farm level.

Project Update

Risk Management Education for Dairy Farmers 
 
Risk management workshops – coordinated by the NY Center for Dairy Excellence and funded by the NY Farm Viability Institute – are being offered across the state this winter to help dairy farmers better deal with price instability and improve their bottom line.
 
The free program, “Managing the Margin” focuses on available risk management tools and strategies in an effort to help farmers build long-term viability for their dairy enterprises by guarding against declining milk prices and increasing feed costs.
