New York Dairy Industry Task Force

Early in 2007, the New York Dairy Industry Task Force was created to provide direction for the Center for Dairy Excellence. Currently, the Task Force is comprised of approximately 80 individuals, including dairy farmers, educators, researchers, extension personnel, agri-business professionals, cooperative managers, government officials and representatives from industry organizations.

The Task Force, which meets three to four times a year, identifies and prioritizes barriers that exist for farmers, as well as opportunities for success. It outlines programs and projects with potential for overcoming the barriers, in addition to advancing farm prosperity.

The Center for Dairy Excellence welcomes additional members to the Task Force. In particular, the Center is looking to increase participation by dairy farmers, as they are the focus of the Center’s efforts. Anyone interested in being part of the New York Dairy Industry Task Force should contact Mark Kenville at (315) 453-3823 or mkenville@nycde.org.
